Nominations for 2013 Municipal Excellence Awards are now being accepted.
The Honourable Doug Griffiths, Minister of Municipal Affairs, is calling on municipalities to submit practices for the 2013 Minister’s Awards for Municipal Excellence. These annual awards recognize municipal government excellence and promote the sharing of knowledge among municipalities. All submissions will be added to the resource library, enriching this resource library for everyone. Please email your submissions by noon, Friday, May 24, 2013 to menet@gov.ab.ca
We want to encourage all the municipal governments to shared their practices which will help improve services, maximize resources, or create partnerships.
Municipal practices will be posted on the Municipal Resource Library for viewing. Thereafore, municipalities must consider FOIPP implications with any attachments submitted. Municipal practices chosen by the Peer Review Panel will receive a Minister’s Award for Municipal Excellence. These awards provide the Government of Alberta with an opportunity to recognize the exceptional programs and services being provided by local governments in Alberta today.
Municipal Excellence Network Resource Library
All the practices submitted over the years can be found in the library. In addition, there are bylaws and policies, plus some additional resource information and articles on this site.

To help the Municipal Excellence Network Resource Library continue to grow, please submit your practices, bylaws and policies to share with other municipalities. Bylaws and policies can be emailed to menet@gov.ab.ca to be posted. To submit additional practices, please use our Practice Collection Form.
