Under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act, any person has the right to request information that is in the custody and control of Municipal Affairs, including their own personal information.  Individuals may also request a correction of their personal information that is in the custody and control of Municipal Affairs.

Alberta Municipal Affairs supports the principle of routine release of information; therefore it may not be necessary to make a formal FOIP request to access a record(s).

The FOIP Coordinator can assist you in determining whether the record(s) that you wish to access are available through a program area, or to discuss submitting a FOIP request.  Forms and information about how to submit a FOIP request  and the required fees can be found on the Alberta Government Services website at http://foip.gov.ab.ca/ .
